![]() Next, I downloaded and installed a patch found here:, which now allows me to play the game at my regular full screen resolution. ![]() Once Direct Play was activated and installed the game opened with no problems… on Win10! Success! IMPORTANT : In the comment sections, people were advising to deactivate my anti-virus and Skype before activating « Direct Play », which I did. ![]() Then I found this video on how to activate « Direct Play » manually. I clicked yes (and tried multiple times) and it always ended up crashing my computer. When I launched the game, Win10 asked me if I would allow it to install « Direct Play ». Then I installed The Conquerors and replaced the "age2_x1.exe" file with the no-cd crack. I'm sorry, it's been so long I don't remember where I found them.Īnyway, I installed AoE 2 first, tried to launch it but nothing happened. I have both the original cd-roms for AoE 2 and the expansion, but they weren't working back when I was using Windows 7, so at the time I ventured to the dark side and found online somewhere an ISO of the games AND a no-cd crack.
